Tessquire

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Tessquire! At Tessquire, we believe that media should be digestible and informative. My name is Tessa, and welcome to my passion project. I am an attorney who belongs to the millennial generation. By day, I am a practicing attorney. By night, I work on creating the world of Tessquire. 

The name Tessquire is a combination of my first name and the term esquire, aka Tessa and attorney. In law school, I struggled to find the space where my multifaceted-self could flourish. However, I was lucky to find my corner of the metaphorical room. Ever since becoming an attorney, this feeling has persisted. If I want to be taken seriously, I feel pressure to downplay portions of my personality or my *sparkle.* As a recovering people-pleaser, I must say this has been a combination of both necessary survival and self-inflicted.

After several years of ignoring and pushing down this feeling, I am now committed to embracing all of the unique sides of Tessa in my role as an attorney. As an attorney, I can feel like I’m living a double life. Both the life I lived before I was an attorney – “Tessa” – and the life I live now, as a professional. Tessquire is both. I am starting this blog to create the space where Tessquire can live freely.  

After years of self-reflection, I have decided it is time. This may come more intuitive to others, but I can honestly say starting this blog is both one of the most exciting and terrifying things I’ve ever chosen to pursue for myself. The decision to try is sometimes the hardest one to let yourself make, but you must. You must not stand in the way of your own path. So here it is. It is time. 

With all of that said, what should you expect from Tessquire? Every Monday and Friday a new post will be published discussing one of three main topics: legal, lifestyle, or news. Think of Tessquire as a legal blog, with a *sprinkle* of lifestyle and news mixed in.
